  1. I love this — not so much for the “powder and lipstick” as for the wisdom of clearing our mind when we approach a creative task. In essence, Singer is helping the seamstress create a sacred space for her work.

    1. Yes, very much so, Catherine. I don’t think any woman can enjoy herself with a messy house before her. Also, we just feel better when we feel we look good. It’s not so much about powder and lipstick, like you say, it’s about being comfortable just being in our own skin.
